These were some background drawings I was testing to see if I should draw the background traditionally. The drawings are based on Muybridge's photos. In the end, I chose to do digital backgrounds as they fit better to the art style I was using

Art Style research

I looked at 9 different art style by other artists as an inspiration for my animation. I ended up attempting to use the "semi-realistic" style as I enjoyed it most and believed it was the most appropriate for my animations tone.
